National Tri Service Cadet Clay Target Competition

Cadet teams from Glasgow and West Scotland Wing and Hants and Isle of Wight Wing represented the Corps against the Army Cadet Force (ACF) and Combined Cadet Force (CCF) in the third Tri Service Cadet Clay Target Competition which was held over the weekend of 27 – 29 June 2009 at Fareham Shooting Gound near Portsmouth.

With the ATC having 5 teams from the 34 teams entered we were certainly “punching above our weight” and the outstanding results achieved show this. Glasgow and West Scotland Wing B team were third in the sporting competition and Glasgow and West Scotland Wing A team were first in the flurry competition. Cdt Dylan Connor from 396 (Paisley) Sqn was joint third individual in the whole competition.

The ATC contingent was supported with the presence of Wing Commanders Eveleigh and Campbell from Headquarters Air Cadets, RAF Cranwell, and the competition prizes were presented by the CCRS Chairman Air Vice Marshall Sir John Cheshire. The Air Vice Marshall commented that it was good to see the Air Training Corps doing so well against such heavy opposition.
