CLIC Seargent Charity Success
On Saturday 5th May teams of Air Cadets from Homilton, Wishaw and Rolls-Royce squadrons took part in the CLIC Seargent Challange.
This is the first time the charity has run any sort of event like this. The purpose of the Challange was to raise funds in aid of the CLIC Seargent Charity. The cadets had a lot of fun, as the Challenge consisted of a triathlon. Orienteering, cycling and raft building. Each team was made up of four cadets and was timed for each of the events. The overall winners were the Royal Engineers who entered a team of two cadets and two adult seargents. Though the adults were not specifically excluded in the rules they were the only ones not to enter all cadet teams. The Army cadets took second spot with a team from 2166 (Hamilton) squadron taking third.
The weather was unkind during the day but this did not dampen the spirits of the competitors.
Next years event promises to be bigger and better with a barbeque and disco already planned to be added.
