Benevolent Cadets
Cadets and staff from Shettleston, Kings Park and Rolls-Royce squadrons collected for the RAF Benevolent Funds first ever Fund Raising Day. The cadets spend the day patrolling Argyle Street, Buchannan Street, George Square and part of Sauchiehall Street in the centre of Glasgow for the whole of Saturday to raise funds.
The cadets worked hard and were rewarded by raising the most funds of any Street Collection in the UK. They raised over £500 thanks to the generosity of the people of Glasgow.
Group Captain Bob Kemp CBE the Director of the RAF Benevolent Fund in Scotland thanked the cadets for their efforts, and congratulated them on being so successful.
The cadets and staff also manned a display in Argyle Street where they talked to members of the public about the Air Cadets and the RAF Benevolent Fund.
