A Great Wee Walk

The Great WEE Scottish Walks are for youngsters up to primary school age to take part in.  Cadets and staff from 498 (Wishaw) and 1089 (Shettleston) squadrons helped run the event held in Glasgow Green on Sunday 22nd April.

This was a first for both the Wing and the Region as there were no cadets at the Edinburgh event the previous week.

The cadets did a bit of everything except run the mobile disco.  Before each of the four walks spread over the day there was a warm up for the entrants.  This was led by Scotty the Great Wee Scottish Walks mascot (a cadet) and several other cadets to a variety of tunes including the 'Music Man'. There was also a games tent for participents to enjoy between walks, tidied regularly by cadets.

Priscilla Turner, the organiser for the Glasgow event said of the cadets "They have worked really hard the whole day. They added to the carnival atmosphere and really made the event a great success. Well done to everyone who helped."
