Catalina Flight

CatalinaOn 18 Sep 2005, three cadets from Glasgow & West Scoltand Wing were inivted for a flight in a classic WWII seaplane - a PBY-5A Catalina operated by Plane Sailing based at Duxford. The aircraft had been flown up to Glasgow Airport to take part in an event at Battery park in Greenock organised by Clyde Aviation.

The flight was taken in the morning prior to an air display later in the day in order for the crew to familiarise themselves with the local area. The cadets from three local squadrons (Greenock, Paisley and Rolls-Royce) were able to sit in the large bubble canopies on the rear of the aircraft during the flight and had a terrific view over and under the aircraft.
