The Commanding Officer of 396 Paisley Squadron is Flight Lieutenant Jim Henderson, his staff are Flying Officer's Roy Steven, Dave Small, Adult Warrant Officer Gordon Gregory and Civilian Instructors McGuiness, Grant Hume, Gregory, Bill McCord, Brisco and Shaw.
The Squadron meets every Monday and Wednesday 19:30 (7:30pm) until 21:30 (9:30pm), the Squadron address is :- The Cadet Centre Paisley TAC, 65 Hawkhead Road, Paisley, PA1 3NE. The Squadron Phone No is 0141 842 1479.
The squadron takes part in many activities including Sports, Projects, Adventure Training, Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme and community involvement this is in addition to the normal syllabus of Aviation based subjects. Projects include aircraft modelling and recognition, training aids and taking part in the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme.
On the first night a new cadet will be given a presentation of the squadron by a senior cadet, given a tour of the premises and then introduced to the cadets from there they will participate in the activities.
If you are between 13 years and 17.5 years and you have ever wanted to try powered flying or gliding or wanted to learn new skills like map reading, first aid, leadership etc. then the ATC should be your next stop.
