Cadets from the Air Training Corps are offered opportunities to fly in light aircraft, gliders as well as other RAF and civil aircraft.
This can take the form of Air Experience Flying, Flying Scholarships or Opportunity flights.

Air Experience Flying takes place at one of the 12 Air Experience Flight's (AEFs) within the UK. Cadets have the opportunity to fly with RAF pilots in the Tutor aircraft (see picture above) in order to gain the experience of powered flying. Cadets from 2319 Squadron are given the opportunity to fly at least once per year either at the nearest AEF or whilst at Easter or Summer camps.
As cadets become more experienced at AEF flying, they may be given the opportunity to have control of the aircraft (under pilot supervision) and even to experience aerobatics.
Through sponsorship schemes, the ACO provides some cadets with the opportunity to complete a Flying Scholarship scheme, in order to work towards their Private Pilots Licence (PPL). Competition for places is very tough, and cadets must undergo selection procedures similar to those undertaken by Aircrew candidates to the Royal Air Force. Further information on the available Flying Scholarship schemes can be obtained from the Air Cadets Website (HQAC) on the "Useful Links" Page.

Whilst on visits to military bases, many cadets have the opportunity to fly in operational aircraft.
Cadets from 2319 squadron have had the opportunity to fly in RAF, Royal Navy and Army aircraft during their time at camps.
