The Commanding Officer of 122 Maryhill Squadron is Flight Lieutenant Colin Wardle, his staff are Flying Officer Vanda Nicholls, Adult Warrant Officer Tom Kerr and Civilian Instructors Bill Alleyn, P. McCool.
The Squadron meets every Tuesday and Friday 19:30 (7:30pm) until 21:30 (9:30pm), the Squadron address is :- TA Centre, Walcheren Barracks, 122 Hotspur Street, Glasgow G20 8LQ. Squadron phone No 0141 946 3013.
The squadron takes part in many activities including Sports, Adventure Training, Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme and Nijmegen training this is in addition to the normal syllabus of Aviation based subjects. Projects include squadron newsletter, maintenance of Squadron minibus, training aids and taking part in the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme.
On the first night a new cadet will be given a presentation of the squadron by a senior cadet, given a tour of the premises and then introduced to the cadets from there they will participate in the activities.
If you are between 13 years and 17.5 years and you have ever wanted to try powered flying or gliding or wanted to learn new skills like map reading, first aid, leadership etc. then the ATC should be your next stop.
